Prehistory (Kickstarter Edition)

We are running out of food. The area around our campsite doesn’t have enough supplies for this many of us. The tribe has no choice, we again have to move on to survive. Now we must travel to discover new areas, look in every nook and cranny for things to eat. We figure, that our best chance is to go our own ways. Which one of us will succeed in finding the richest soil, build a new home, found the strongest tribe?

In this game, the players act as prehistoric tribe from the late stone age, trying to best manage the food and resource via various actions.

We come across many situations that prehistoric people would have faced. Gathering, fishing, hunting, even creating paintings on your walls, or maybe performing a ceremony to influence the forces of nature.

All this, while searching for a new home, conquering new areas. The player with the biggest progress and most wealth will survive to thrive and win the game.

A round consists of 4 phases:

• Winter is about preparation for the next round. The players set up the new turn order, replace the central pricing tile and fill the fish and fruits on the empty spaces on the board. The hunting and ceremony cards are discarded from the last round, and 5 new ones are drawn from each pile
• Spring: Markers in the game have a dual function. At the beginning of spring, all players gain resources which are used during the season for doing actions on the main board. Those are performed in a worker placement style. To earn the right to perform an action you have to make additional donations from your stock of resources.
• Summer: In the beginning of summer, the players gain back the donations from the main board in a reverse player order. These cubes are added into your special action stock. If a marker is placed in this special stock it becomes an action marker. To perform an action during the summer you must spend action markers of the right colour from here instead of paying resource costs.
• Autumn: Autumn takes place in a different playing area on the map. This time you have a chance to conquer new territories, build new campsites, increase your population ad gather additional goods or markers.

The game components are language independent, the rulebook is included in 4 languages: English, French, German and Hungarian.
