Ager Sanguinis: Man-to-Man combat in Northern Syria in the 12th Century

Ager Sanguinis ("The Field of Blood" in Latin) is the name of battle lost by Roger of Antioch in 1119. It is set in Northern Syria and simulates the fierce fights between the descendants of the Normans who followed Bohemond of Tarento, son of Robert Guiscard and founder of the principality of Antioch in the 12th Century. The game includes the various factions in this civilization showdown: Knights Hospitaller, Armenians and Seljuk Turks.

The Game is a man-to-man small scale combat game in the tradition of the classics like Cry Havoc and Siege from the 1980s.

The unit scale is one man to one counter. Each man is generally represented by multiple counters or both sides of a single counter to portray healthy and wounded combatants as well as mounted and unmounted (including the horses) where applicable. Each counter has a nicely colored picture of each man with attack defense and movement values in addition to the name of the person depicted.

Ager Sanguinis leverages the rules of the others games in the Norman Saga series and introduces new counters like camels and naphta throwers.
