Modern Land Battles (MLB) – Target Acquired uses the core game mechanics from our award-winning Modern Naval Battles game, but then expands them to 3 combat areas on the table: Terrain, Breakthrough, and Flanking.
The cards will be beautifully printed with full color on both sides with rounded corners. The box size is 9" x 12" x 2".
This new game features forces from 7 different nations: USA, USSR, UK, China, Israel, Insurgent, and Arabian Multinational. This gives you the forces you need to play out battles during the Cold War, Six-Day War, Iran-Iraq War, Vietnam War, Lebanon War, Yom Kippur War, Falkland Islands War, and Gulf War.
The game system maximizes player decision making to make every turn exciting. At the start of the game, you get to select a nation's ground forces to command. Then, you get to select the specific armor, infantry, and artillery forces that you think is the best battle force. Once selected, you'll get to battle the forces selected by the other players in order to capture and secure vital objectives!

Verbesserte Landversion von Modern Naval Battles
Modern Land Battles von DVG ist die verbesserte Version von Modern Naval Battles (zumindest von der 2008er Fassung, die überarbeitete neue kenne ich nicht).
MLB bietet 137 Einheitskarten (7 Fraktionen, jede Karte ist 1 bis 4 mal vorhanden), 14 Terrainkarten und 90 Aktionskarten, sowie 1 Anleitung, 4 zehnseitige Würfel und 1 Countersheet mit 70 stabilen Countern (nicht 54, wie in der Anleitung aufgeführt).
Die 16 seitige Anleitung ist reich bebildert und in gut verständlichem Englisch geschrieben.
Das Spiel ist für 2 bis 6 Spieler geeignet (iwir spielen es nur zu zweit).
Aufgrund des sehr günstigen Sonderpreises (30 statt 45 Euro) haben wir das Spiel zweimal gekauft. Das hat zum einen den Vorteil, dass jeder Spieler sein eigenes Aktionsdeck hat. Dadurch kann man Deckbuilding betreiben oder für Missionen vorgeben (z.B. darf nur der Verteidiger Minenkarten im Deck haben).
Zum anderen sind viele Einheiten nur 1 oder 2 mal in einem Spiel. Mit 2 Boxen kann man seine Armee viel flexibler aufstellen.
Im Gegensatz zu MNB (2008er Version) geben viele Fahrzeuge Boni oder Mali auf die Waffenaktionskarten. Beispielsweise hat ein T-34 Panzer einen Malus von 1 auf seinen Kanonenangriff, während ein (teurerer) T-72 Panzer einen Bonus von 2 bringt (plus höhere Panzerung).
Neben Panzern gibt es auch Artilleriegeschütze und leichte Fahrzeuge.
Das Spiel bietet zu zweit ein spannendes Duell. Zum Spiel mit 3 bis 6 Spielern kann ich nichts sagen.
