Wie auch das erfolgreiche Original-Fluxx ist Piraten Fluxx ein Spiel, bei dem die Spieler Regeln und Spielziel bestimmen. Alles beginnt mit der einfachen Grundregel: Eine Karte ziehen und eine Karte ausspielen. Doch schnell werden neue Regelkarten ausgelegt und das Chaos nimmt seinen Lauf … Die Spieler sammeln Bonuskarten vor sich, um das Spielziel zu erfüllen. Dumm nur, wenn einer der Mitspieler mal eben das Spielziel ändert.
