After the first edition of Heroes of Normandie, each subsequent release in the Heroes System range (Shadows over Normandie, Heroes of Black Reach and Heroes of Stalingrad) benefited from the evolution and improvements of every predecessor. Now again, each faction’s action cards underwent a facelift with a new design, making them even more beautiful and badass!

The new mechanic of Alternate Bonuses, present on about fifteen situational action cards, removes the deck preparation step before each game. Obviously, this speeds up setup significantly. Gone are the pesky days of removing useless cards during setup! For example, the ‘Surprise’ card – allowing units to enter a building through a window – is not very useful when there are no buildings on the battlefield, nor is the ‘It Bounced Right Off’ card – allowing you to ignore a hit on a vehicle – when you’re playing an infantry-only army. These situational cards now feature an Alternate Bonus which can be used instead of the regular event text on a card.

Furthermore, a smaller deck of fifty cards brings more exciting and dynamic gameplay to the table while offering better and more precise deck-control as well.
