Q43 – TELESE, ITALY, 11 October 1943: Monte Acero looms over the Volturno valley—a razor’s edge of terrain where every ridge is a battlefield. Elite German scouts and assault guns brace against relentless U.S. artillery and armour. Ambushes, counterattacks, and shattered units clash in a desperate race to hold the line one more day. The clock is ticking.

The Lehr Brigade fights hard, but surprise and steel break their line. By mid-afternoon, Mednoye is free—and 500 prisoners walk into daylight.
