Pocket Battle: The Utah Beach Landings

The westernmost beach, Utah, was added late to the invasion plan. The objective was to secure a beachhead on the Cotentin Peninsula, and rapidly seal it off, both to prevent the Germans from reinforcing the vital port at Cherbourg, and capture it as quickly as possible. The US amphibious assault here was supported by airborne landings as well.
